M Y   S T O R Y

Chandni Patel grew up in the heritage city of Ahmedabad, India. Her work is deeply inspired by Indian folklore, traditional art, biodiversity and all its varied aspects. As an intuitive painter, she finds inspiration in sights, landscapes and nature; and she strives to create paintings that speak of the simple beauty existing in everyday life.

She is fascinated by the interplay of colour, shape and form; consequently expanding her art in both contemporary and abstract works. Through her canvas, she seeks to capture and convey the moods of nature: the equinox of spring, the peacefulness of an Adiyogi or the surreal courtyard of a shrine. She prefers acrylic, oil paints and charcoal to create rich textures that radiates with energy. And it's this colour-infused energy that truly defines her work.

She hold a Masters degree in Commerce and lives with her husband and children. She paints in a home nestled with a wooded yard close to the neighbourhood where she began to develop her artistic sensibilities as a child. She hopes her paintings give people a feeling of optimism through her canvases' refreshing colours and forms.
